Setia Ali Mosque library opens

A library is a knowledge centre, a bridge of knowledge for all levels of society and a way to gain knowledge through the use of materials available.

This was said by the guest of honour, Awang Abdul Hazimin Putera bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Head of Library and Information Technology, Department of Mosque Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Brunei Darussalam, during the recent opening of the library in the Setia Ali Mosque, Pekan Muara.

The event began with the reading of surah al-fatihah followed by a welcoming speech from the chairman of the council, Pengiran Haji Rusman bin Pengiran Haji Shahbudin, imam.

There was a poetry reading, drawing and writing contest for Khat Jawi during the event. Also present at the ceremony was Mosque Takmir Committee, youth and Beliawanis of the mosque and village residents.

The opening ceremony was organised by the Youth Affairs Committee, Setia Ali Mosque, Pekan Muara.

The library in the mosque is intended to give its users acess to resources and reference materials such as reading the past year’s questions in Primary School Examination (PSR) and ‘O’ level and to increase knowledge on religion.
