The China-Asean business community will receive a communication boost as of next year thanks to the formation of the China-Asean Business Magazine, the first issue of which will be distributed in January 2011.

The launch of the magazine is expected to take place within the next few days by the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar along with Vice Chairman of Guangxi, Chen Zhangliang.

According to Brunei-China Friendship Association member, Calvin Ang Ju Ming, Brunei Darussalam has invested in the bilingual magazine, which is aimed “to consolidate information” and to be distributed around China and Asean once every two months.

A group of journalists from each Asean member country and China will provide details for the construction of the magazine that will encompass up-to-date details of respective country’s economies, political stance as well as governmental policies.

He explained that the magazine will act as a guideline for businessmen and women who are in search of potential growth and investments throughout the region as it will also highlight, among others, risk factors, which can play a significant role when carrying out trade.

The first issue of the magazine, 2,000 copies in total, will be handed out to business committees, including chambers of commerce, associations and societies, throughout China and Asean for free.
