Mobile library now heads to Chung Hwa School, Tutong

CHUNG Hwa School in Kiudang yesterday became the first private school in the Tutong District to launch a mobile library service.
Organised in collaboration with the Language and Literature Bureau of the district, the launch was held at the school’s main hall.
Students will now have access to more than 1,700 books on board the bus that will visit the school once every two weeks. They will also be able to borrow up to five books for a period of two weeks, according to Principal Ang Wah Bin during the sidelines of the event.
This generousity by the Language and Literature Bureau also meant that students have more variety of interesting reading materials and resources as well as to help achieve the 21st Century National Education System (SPN21) initiative of mastering basic skills of reading, writing and Mathematics.
The principal then welcomed and encouraged more parents and Kiudang villagers to borrow books from the mobile library by registering as members.
The launch was also witnessed by Chief Librarian of the Language and Literature Bureau Hj Sahari Hj Nasar, the guest of honour who is also the Village Head of Kiudang, Hj Mohamad Saiful Abdullah Anja, Head of Language and Literature Bureau of Tutong District Hjh Noraidah Hj Ibrahim, the school principal and the vice chairman of Chung Hwa School of Kiudang, Sii Tai Chuong along with teachers, parents, villagers and pupils.
