EXCITING activities await members of the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Library in Muara this second school term holiday.
From mathematics tests to colouring competitions to handicraft with recyclable materials, and even a visit to Luahan Agriculture Development Project Station in Jerudong, participants can be sure that their term break will be anything but boring.
Most of the activities will take place at the library itself, starting at 9am (apart from the visit to the Luahan Agriculture Development Project Station which commences at 8am).
The library also offers activities in the afternoon to cater for teenagers, which include a poetry writing competition, charades, a Bruneian language quiz, and a visit to Royal Regalia in the capital, among others.
The afternoon activities all start at 2pm, except for the Royal Regalia visit that starts at 8am.
The objective of these activities is to build character and personality in the youth, helping them to become competent, visionary, committed, and able to engage themselves in the library to gain knowledge.
The library’s activities also fill up the youth’s school holiday time in a positive way, with hopes that it will further encourage reading among them.
Prizes of stationery sets and books are also given away to participants who win in the quiz activities.
Those who are interested may head over to the Muara Library and apply to become a member to join their fun activities, which continue today, tomorrow, and on June 20 and 22.The Brunei Times
